Weekend Review

Some exercise and a lot of time with the kids.

Saturday I took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese. Kim got to go to a craft show with her mom and then started playing Santa Clause and started the Christmas Shopping for the kids. I will only do C.E.C if we are there when the doors open. If you go late to that place it is a mad house when the birthday parties start. We stayed for a little while had pizza (nothing like pizza at 10:15 in the morning), I was carbing up. We got done with that got home and I took Liam to his soccer game and Kim took the girls for new sneakers. After Liam's game we came home and Kim went for a run and when she came home I went for my run. I was hoping to get in 6 miles but do to stomach (poop) problems I cut it off at a little over 3 miles. I was doing the mile loop around the development so was never too far from the house.

Sunday I got up at like 6 am to let the dogs out and had my oatmeal and made my Cytomax for my long run. I filled my water bottles and put them in the freezer. Took care of business so not to have the same problems as yesterday. I set out for my long run and did 10.75 miles in 1:49:xx for right around a 10 minute mile pace (I was happy with that). Got showered and we were all off to the mall to get our family Christmas pictures taken. Yes I know it is October talk to my wife about that. If it was up to me they would be taken in January so I guess it is good that she is in charge of that.

We then let the kids get Build a Bears and we had lunch at Friendly's. OK does Friendly's have any thing healthy on their menu? I think I did the best I could under the situation, and yes I did burn over 1700 calories on the run. I opted for the Oriental Chicken Salad and truly only put on just a little of the dressing it came with. Didn't order any ice Cream but had two spoon fulls of Kelsey's and one of her mozzarella sticks.

Well we are about to head to the girls soccer game so I got to go. As I leave my Fantasy Football team is winning and the Giants are winning, so things are good with Football right now.

You are one cool dad! I've done ONE non-birthday party CEC visit. DW and I even argued over who would take the kids there when they were that age. And then, Friendly's and Build A Bear! Do those kids know how lucky they are? You are my hero!

Oh yeah, nice mileage this weekend too!

Jeff, there is no argument here, Kim refuses to do CEC if not a party. I got to tell you if you get there when they open it is not that bad.

friendly's! I was a waiter in college at friendly's. I had one table sing to me, but the best story was about the guy that found a screw in his sundae. There's a screw on top of the toppings containers that gets removed every nite to clean the work table. This one came off and into his ice cream. I was at the cash register and asked him if everything was ok. He said, everything but the screw in my sundae. I knew he was having a good time with this discovery, so I added - "at least we didn't charge you for it". I believe in good customer service, so I made sure he was happy leaving Friendly's with some free ice cream for his freezer at home.

On the goood side, CEC pizza is about the grossest thing I have ever eaten, so I would have no problems abstaining. On the other hand, I cannot stand flushing 50 bucks down the toilet on games to win a 20 cent toy with the tickets. They have quite a racket going....
Good job on the runs, or rather- overcoming them. (tee hee) Been there, done that a time or two myself. Makes you feel kinda like your running dangerously for a few days/weeks afterwards!

Rule 1 - If you even think you might need to drop off friends at the pool, go sit for 5 minutes before the run. No need to sacrifice a 10 dollar pair of socks as TP.

CEC pizza sucks. If I was going to waste my calories on Pizza, it would not be theirs.

Nice long run. I'm hoping by calorie counting I can get down to 205 and hopefully I can run some times like that. Not going to happen at this weight.

I know your CEC dislike all too well....I spend way too much time between there and Peter Piper Pizza. I think one day they will offer me a job.

Obviously, we as parents have lost total control. When I was growing up, if the folks didn't want to go somewhere, we didn't go. We all dislike (okay, hate) CEC, yet we continue to go. What's up with that?

And another vote for their pizza sucking too. I think cardboard might actually taste better.

couldn't imagine CEC -

Friendly's! gosh, what was that giant sunday I used to get there as a kid?

Loop runs are good and bad - too easy to cut short, but nice when you HAVE to...
